How to Adapt Your Business During COVID 19

During these uncertain times for businesses, it can feel very daunting. The world is undergoing a transformation and it is unlikely that we will go back to how things were any time soon. However, there’s no need to panic, The Startup Club have compiled our top tips for adapting and improving your business, from our personal experience as a company.

Communicating Digitally

During this time due to lockdown, this has meant many employees have had to work from home. It is important to consider the positive effects of working remotely such as saving money on office space and commuting time as well as positive environmental impacts. For employees, make sure you check up on their progress by having a clear channel of communication to provide support and motivation. It also may be helpful to suggest for employees to set up an area in their home that is specifically for work.

It is also essential for communication to be maintained via video conferencing and webinars between both employees and businesses. For example, at the Startup Club, rather than hosting our events such as our Pitch Nights in person as we were before COVID 19, we are now hosting our events online. This means that startups are easily able to connect with our carefully selected investors globally without the need for travel. This shows how by adapting our events we are able to connect with a wider variety of people!

At the Startup Club, we are hosting 10 events throughout June 2020 alone. If you are interested in any of our upcoming online events, be sure to RSVP on our website now and take advantage of the easy access to our events.

Take Advantage of Changes in Consumer Habits

It is important during this time to consider what has changed due to COVID 19, for example, a key change is that paid ads are becoming cheaper. Not as many small businesses are advertising meaning that the cost per click is lower. Now is the perfect time to take advantage of this to market your product and specifically target consumers, as online consumption is much higher due to lockdown!

By focusing on working on your marketing strategy and how you will adapt your company to selling your services online, this will benefit the return on investment and growth in the long term.

Social Media Presence

Being online is obviously essential during this time, meaning this is the perfect time to take advantage of free social media platforms in order to strengthen your business’ brand. With no face-to-face contact, maintaining a strong and consistent online presence is the key method to promote your company’s services and stay in contact with your customers.

All of your social media profiles should be updated regularly with relevant information and updates about the adaptations that you will be making during the lockdown. Having a website that is easy to navigate and attractive is also a necessity for any business.

Essentially, take advantage of this time to increase your business’ online presence and plan for the future. At the Startup Club, we provide many consulting services such as a social media plan where we provide an evaluation of existing strategy, competitor analysis, design of editorial strategy and much more. We also provide a variety of advertising services such as advertising groups and emailing. To find out more check out the service plans and pricing that we provide on our website!
